Virat Kohli loses top spot to Steve Smith in ICC Test Player rankings

India skipper Virat Kohli lost the top spot in the ICC Test Player Rankings after managing only 21 runs in the first Test which his side lost to New Zealand by 10 wickets in Wellington.

Kohli, who has 906 points, slipped to the second position in the list which also features Ajinkya Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara and Mayank Agarwal at the eighth, ninth and 10th place respectively.

While India vice-captain Rahane, who scored 75 in the opening Test, gained a spot and Mayank returned to a career-best 10th position after amassing 92 runs, which included a second-innings half-century, Pujara dropped two places after returning with identical scores of 11 in the two innings.

Steve Smith, Pat Cummins hold on to top spots in latest ICC Test rankings

Australia batsman Steve Smith and pacer Pat Cummins have maintained their positions at the top of the ICC Test Player Rankings after the Ashes, which culminated with a 135-run victory for England on Sunday as the five-match series ended in a 2-2 draw.

Smith's scores of 80 and 23 have helped him remain 34 points ahead of Virat Kohli with 937 rating points, an incredible effort since he started the series in fourth position with 857 points before his surge that came courtesy 774 runs in four Tests.

Women's T20I rankings: Australia's Jess Jonassen grabs fourth spot among bowlers

Australia left-arm spinner Jess Jonassen has grabbed a career-best fourth position in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Women’s T20I Player Rankings after finishing as the most successful bowler in a recent 3-0 T20I series sweep over the West Indies.

Jonassen, a formerly top-ranked bowler in ODIs, has gained 24 positions in the list led by her compatriot Megan Schutt after finishing with seven wickets in the series, including superb figures of four for seven in the final match in Bridgetown on Wednesday, which won her the Player of the Match award.

Sharma reaches career-best ranking after twin centuries

ICC women's ODI rankings: India maintains second position

In the latest ICC women's ODI rankings, India maintained their second position but increased the points lead over third-placed England.

The ICC ranking released today said, the Indian women's team is now three points ahead of England. India now has 125 points against England's  122.

In the T20 International ranking, India are placed at the fifth position.

Virat Kohli one point behind Steve Smith in ICC Test Rankings; R Ashwin, Ajinkya Rahane move upwards

Ace off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has continued his rise in the ICC Test Rankings for bowlers after his stupendous show with the ball in the Pune Test against South Africa which India won by an innings and 137 runs.

Ashwin, who had entered the top 10 after the first Test in Visakhapatnam, has now moved to the seventh spot, courtesy his six wickets which he took against the Proteas in the second Test.

ICC T20 Rankings: India fast bowler Deepak Chahar jumps 88 places

India fast bowler Deepak Chahar, who returned a world-record haul of six for seven against Bangladesh on Sunday, has moved up 88 slots to 42nd in the latest ICC T20 rankings for bowlers.
 
Rohit Sharma continued to remain India's top-ranked batsman at the seventh position while K L Rahul moved up a place to eight after his half-century on Sunday. England's Dawid Malan has made a grand re-entry to the batting chart, grabbing the third position in the list led by Pakistan's Babar Azam, while Aaron Finch of Australia has taken the second spot after gaining two positions.

Mohammed Shami breaks into top-10, Mayank Agarwal moves to 11th

Following an impressive performance in the first Test against Bangladesh, the Indian bowlers were rewarded in the ICC Test Rankings. Six bowlers from the country are in the top-25 of the world in the latest rankings released by the ICC on their website. In addition, Mohammed Shami, who was the star of the second innings as India cruised to an innings-and-130-run win, broke into top-10.

Shami's 790 rating points are the third best for an India pace bowler with only Kapil Dev (877) and Jasprit Bumrah (832) having recorded more points.

Jemimah Rodrigues, Rekha Yadav top Indians in women's T20I player rankings

India's Jemimah Rodrigues on Thursday jumped to the fourth position in the batting chart, while slow left-arm spinner Radha Yadav is placed second among bowlers in the latest ICC Women's T20I Player Rankings.

Besides Rodrigues, young Shafali Verma also made significant progress in the just-released T20I Player Rankings, after playing stellar roles in a stunning 5-0 series sweep over the West Indies.

Rodrigues moved up three places to fourth position and teen sensation Verma gained 57 slots to reach 30th position as India leapfrogged the West Indies to fourth position in the ICC Women's T20I Team Rankings after the 5-0 victory over the former T20 World champions.
