Last month, state-run telco BSNL launched Abhinandan-151 prepaid recharge plan with unlimited data and calling. However, the benefits were limited to users in Tamil Nadu and Chennai circles. The prepaid recharge plan is available for Rs 151. For this price, you get 24 days validity along with unlimited local and national calling without any FUP. The plan also includes 100 free SMS daily. Talking about data, users get 1GB high-speed daily data. After the limit is crossed, users can continue with unlimited downloads, but at reduced speeds of 40Kbps. Overall, users get 24GB high-speed data throughout the validity period.

A new report has emerged online indicating that the internet speeds in India have taken a hit in the past couple of months. Cisco partners with Google to offer users free high speed WiFi in India

Cisco is reportedly collaborating with Google for its ‘gStation’ offering that provides access to free and high-speed WiFi at public locations in India. Under the partnership, Cisco is providing the network infrastructure, and about 25 locations already live in Bengaluru. Furthermore, another 200 locations will go live in the next two to three months in the city.

These locations include public spaces like bus stops, hospitals and government offices among others. Later, Wi-Fi will be extended to 300 more locations in Bengaluru, and other cities as well. “This is a global partnership and India is the first country, where we are rolling this out,” Cisco President (India and SAARC) Sameer Garde said at the Cisco India Summit 2019.

Reliance Jio to announce Jio GigaFiber rollout on August 12, will come in three bundled plans

Reliance Jio is expected to announce the commercial rollout of its JioGigaFiber service across the country on August 12 at its annual general meeting. The company is also expected to launch the service in three bundled plans for different services.

In a note sent to clients, Bank of America’s Merrill Lynch division said that new information on Jio’s fibre-based home broadband services will be disclosed at the Reliance Industries’ 42nd AGM event on August 12, reports ET Telecom.
