India reports 30,548 new COVID-19 cases, 435 deaths in a day; active cases skid below 4.8 lakh

India on Monday saw a single-day hike of 30,548 infections, pushing the country's COVID-19 caseload to 88,45,127 while the number of people who have recovered from the disease have surged to 82 lakh, according to the Union Health Ministry data. The coronavirus death toll jumped to 1,30,070 with 435 new fatalities, the data updated at 8 am showed.

The number of active cases remained below 4.8 lakh for the sixth consecutive day. As on date, there are 4,65,478 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country which comprises 5.44 per cent of the total caseload, the data stated. With 43,851 new discharges in last 24 hrs, the total recoveries have surged to 82,49,579, pushing the national recovery rate to 93.09 per cent, while COVID-19 case fatality rate stands at 1.47 per cent.

According to the ICMR, a cumulative total of 12,56,98,525 samples have been tested up to November 15 with 8,61,706 samples being tested on Sunday.

India records 29,164 COVID-19 cases, 449 deaths; recovery rate at 93.42 per cent

India on Tuesday saw a single-day hike of 29,164 new infections, taking the country's COVID-19 caseload to 88,74,291 while the number of people who have recovered from the disease have surged to 82 lakh, according to the Union Health Ministry data said on Tuesday.

The coronavirus death toll jumped to 1,30,519 with 449 new fatalities, the data updated at 8 am showed. The number of active cases remained below 5 lakh for the seventh consecutive day. As on date, there are 4,53,401 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country which comprises 5.11 per cent of the total caseload, the data stated.

With 40,791 new discharges in the last 24 hrs, the total recoveries have surged to 82,90,371 pushing the national recovery rate to 93.42 per cent, while COVID-19 case fatality rate stands at 1.47 per cent.

According to the ICMR, a cumulative total of 12,65,42,907 samples have been tested up to November 16 with 8,44,382samples being tested on Monday.

With 38,616 new cases, 474 deaths in a day, India's COVID-19 tally crosses 89L-mark

India on Wednesday recorded as many as 38,616 new coronavirus infections, taking India's COVID-19 caseload to 89 lakh, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated. On Tuesday, India reported less than 30,000 COVID-19 cases, after four months

The total coronavirus cases mounted to 8,912,907 while the death toll climbed to 130993 with 474 new fatalities, the data updated at 8 am showed.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 83 lakh while the number of active cases remained below 5 lakh for the seventh consecutive day.

For the first time, active cases skid below 4.5 lakh. As of now, there are 4,46,805 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country as on date which comprises 5.01 per cent of the total caseload, the data stated.

The total recoveries have surged to 83,35,109 pushing the national recovery rate to 93.52 per cent.

According to the ICMR, a cumulative total of 12,74,80,186 samples have been tested up to November 17 with 9,37,279 samples being tested.

The health ministry stressed that more than 70 per cent of the deaths occurred due to comorbidities. "Our figures are being reconciled with the Indian Council of Medical Research," the ministry said on its website, adding that state-wise distribution of figures is subject to further verification and reconciliation.

India records 45,576 new COVID-19 cases, 585 deaths in a day; recovery rate at 93.58%

India on Thursday recorded as many as 45,576 new coronavirus infections and 585 deaths, pushing country's COVID-19 caseload to 89.5 lakh, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated. The total coronavirus cases mounted to 8,958,483 while the death toll climbed to 1,31,578, the data updated at 8 am showed.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 83 lakh. The total recoveries have surged to 83,83,602 pushing the national recovery rate to 93.58 per cent, while the COVID-19 case fatality rate stands at 1.47 per cent.

The number of active cases remained below 4.5 lakh for the second consecutive day. There are 4,43,303 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country as on date which comprises 4.95 per cent of the total caseload, the data stated.

According to the ICMR, a cumulative total of more than 12,85,08,389 crore samples have been tested up to November 18 with 10,28,203 samples being tested on Wednesday.

With 45,882 new COVID-19 cases in a day, tally crosses 90L-mark; recoveries surge past 84 lakh

India’s total coronavirus cases on Friday mounted surged past 90,04,366 lakh with 45,882 fresh infections being reported in a day, while the death toll climbed to 1,32,162 with 584 new fatalities, data updated at 8.00 am showed. With 44,807 new discharge, 84,28,410 have recuperated from COVID-19 so far, pushing the national recovery rate to 93.58 per cent, while the case fatality rate stands at 1.47 per cent.

The number of active cases remained below 4.5 lakh for the third consecutive day.

However, after 55 days, with 491, the country witnessed a rise in active cases of coronavirus infection, taking the tally to 4,43,794 as on date, which comprises 4.95 per cent of the total caseload, data stated.

The national recovery rate has improved to 93.58 per cent which exceeded active cases, the health ministry said on Thursday.

"This trend of more daily recoveries than the daily cases has led to a continuous contraction of India's active caseload," it said.

According to the ICMR, a cumulative total of more than 12,95,91,786 crore samples have been tested up to November 18 with 10,83,397 samples being tested on Wednesday.

India registers 46,232 new COVID-19 cases, 564 deaths in last 24 hrs; 0.7% higher than yesterday

With 46,232 new COVID-19 infections, India's total cases rose to 90,50,598 on Saturday. The country also registered a total number of 564 new deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the number of deaths to 1,32,726. According to the Health Ministry’s update as of 8 a.m. on November 21, total number of active cases stood at 4,39,747 and total discharged cases at 84,78,124 with 49,715 new discharges in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Delhi on Friday reported 6,608 new COVID-19 cases taking the tally to 5,17,238. According to a health bulletin of the Delhi government, the death toll due to Covid-19 climbed to 8,159 as 118 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours. As many as 8,775 recoveries were reported on Friday, taking the total number of recovered patients to 4,68,143.

Rising Covid cases have prompted some state governments to impose partial restrictions once again. In Gujarat’s Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot and Vadodara cities a night curfew has been imposed where no movement is allowed between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.

A similar curfew has been put in place between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. in Madhya Pradesh's Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Vidisha and Ratlam.

Meanwhile, the city of Mumbai has decided to keep schools shut till Dec. 31, 2020 as it anticipates another wave of cases. Schools have been allowed to open for classes 9-12 on a voluntary basis from Nov. 23 in the rest of Maharashtra.

India's COVID-19 caseload inches closer to 91 lakh on Sunday as the country recorded 45,209 fresh coronavirus cases and 501 deaths in a day, according to Union Health Ministry data. While the number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to over 85 lakh pushing the national recovery rate to 93.69 per cent.

However, India's new daily coronavirus infections remain below the 50,000-mark, but there has been surge in COVID-19 cases in few cities. Following several states, including Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat have decided to impose either night curfew or Section 144 in certain cities to keep a check on the coronavirus cases.

The total coronavirus cases mounted to 90,95,807 while the death toll climbed to 1,32,726, the data updated at 8 am showed.

The number of active cases remained below five lakh for the twelfth consecutive day. There are 4,40,962 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country as on date, which comprises 4.85 per cent of the total caseload, as per the data.

The total recoveries have surged to 85,21,617 pushing the national while the COVID-19 case fatality rate stands at 1.46per cent.

According to ICMR, 13,17,33,134 crore samples have been tested till November 21 with 10,75,326 samples being tested on Saturday.

India reports 44,059 single-day COVID cases, 511 fatalities; tally crosses 91 lakh-mark

India's COVID-19 tally rose to 91,39,866 on Monday as the country reported 44,059 new cases, while the recoveries surged to 85,62,642, according to the Union Health Ministry's data. The death toll reached 1,33,738 with 511 more fatalities, while total active coronavirus cases mounted to 4,43,486, the data updated at 8 am showed.
