India Women pacer Mansi Joshi has been ruled out of the upcoming Women's T20 Challenge in UAE, to be held from November 4-9, after testing positive for COVID-19. Cricbuzz understands uncapped UP pacer Meghna Singh has been named as Joshi's replacement in the Mithali Raj-led Velocity squad, pending BCCI approval.

Joshi, who turned 27 on Wednesday, is understood to be asymptomatic and in stable condition. She tested positive in her hometown Dehradun, in the mandatory test BCCI asked all players involved in the T20 competition to undergo, before flying them out to Mumbai.

Subsequently, Joshi has been placed in self-isolation for two weeks starting October 11. The Indian contingent, currently in a nine-day quarantine in Mumbai, leaves for UAE on October 21, hence ruling Joshi out of contention.

The three-team Women's T20 Challenge, likely to be played in Sharjah, will be held on the sidelines of the IPL 2020 playoffs week in a single round-robin format with the final slated for November 9. Harmanpreet Kaur (Supernovas), Smriti Mandhana (Trailblazers) and Raj (Velocity) will lead the three teams, like last edition in Jaipur.
